Terms and Conditions
Last updated: September 2026.
Who we are
This site and the licences it sells are provided by Neil Brown, trading as Strype Book Authors ("we", "us"), a sole trader based in the UK. Contact: team@strype.org.
What we sell
We sell licences to access and download our ebook content, in PDF, single-page HTML, and multi-page HTML formats. Current pricing is on our Buy page.
Paddle as our reseller
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Licences
- Individual copy: for personal use by the person who purchased it (or the person named on the licence, if bought for someone else).
- Class/institutional copy: for use by the students of the class or institution the licence was purchased for. The single access link provided may be shared within that class or institution, but not more widely.
- Licences are perpetual (no expiry) or annual (renews yearly), as stated at the time of purchase. An annual licence's access ends if it isn't renewed, subject to a short grace period if a payment attempt fails and is being retried.
- Downloaded files are personalised to the licence holder. Please don't redistribute them outside the scope of your licence.
Availability
We intend to keep perpetual licences accessible for as long as this service operates. If we ever have to discontinue the service, we'll aim to give reasonable notice and a way to download your licensed content before it closes.
Right to cancel and refunds
If you're a consumer based in the UK or EU, you have a statutory right to cancel this contract within 14 days of purchase, without giving any reason (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 / EU Consumer Rights Directive). To cancel, contact us at team@strype.org before the 14 days have passed.
We also offer our own 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked, to every customer regardless of where you're based — see our Refund Policy for how to request a refund under either right. Because our own guarantee already matches or exceeds the statutory right, we don't ask you to give up any part of it in order to get immediate access to your purchase.
Liability
The content is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the book or this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always applies. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
