Privacy Policy

Who we are
Neil Brown, trading as Strype Book Authors, is the data controller for the personal data described below. Contact: team@strype.org.
What we collect
To provide a licence and let you access it, we hold:
- Your email address (and an optional backup email address, if you give us one).
- A record of what you've purchased, when, and its expiry date (if any).
- An access link (a unique, unguessable web address) associated with your purchase.
We don't collect or store your payment details. Payment, billing address, and tax information are collected and processed by Paddle.com, our reseller and merchant of record for all orders, under their own privacy policy.
Why we process it, and on what basis
We use this data to fulfil your purchase (providing and maintaining your access link) and to respond if you ask us to resend it. This is necessary to perform the contract with you (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
Who we share it with
- Paddle.com, to process payment and as the merchant of record for your order.
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records for as long as needed to support your licence and to meet our own accounting and tax obligations. If you ask us to delete your data, we'll remove what we can, but we keep a minimal financial record of the transaction itself (date, amount, and that a purchase occurred) as required for our own tax records.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, by emailing team@strype.org. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Cookies
This site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Paddle's checkout may set its own cookies when you make a purchase, under their own policy.
